Tagliere e altri salumi tipici

The Christmas holidays are the perfect occasion to rediscover the authentic flavors of tradition and bring them to the table in a convivial, simple, and genuine way, just like in our osteria.
This is why we have gathered some practical and delicious ideas designed to enhance our Alberti San Daniele Prosciutto through pairings with other typical Friulian products (but not only).
These are simple, natural combinations that evoke the feeling of home, and ery ingredient is available in our shop. Whether it’s Christmas lunch, Christmas Eve dinner, or a happy hour, here’s how to make the most of our products and create balanced, surprising pairings.

Pairings by La Casa del Prosciutto

San Daniele Prosciutto Crudo – Giardiniera

Our Alberti San Daniele prosciutto pairs beautifully with the Giardiniera in oil, which has a delicate flavor that doesn’t cover the prosciutto’s. This creates a perfect balance of textures between the soft, velvety prosciutto and the crunchy, juicy vegetables.

Salame – Frico

A winning Friulian combination: the rustic, fatty flavor of salami meets the crispness of frico, creating an explosion of taste. Both are iconic Friulian products, and their harmony perfectly represents the region’s culinary culture.

Speck – Puntarelle

Speck, with its smoky and aromatic notes typical of Northern Italy, finds a surprising match with the puntarella, a Roman specialty that adds freshness and a pleasant bitter note. The softness of the speck blends with the crunchiness of the puntarelle in a delightful contrast.

Guanciale – On Its own over warm bread

Guanciale, rich in fine fat and seasoned with salt and spices, develops intense and enveloping aromas. It is ideal enjoyed on its own, over a slice of warm bread, which enhances its tenderness and slightly melts the fat, making it irresistible.

Montasio – Pear Sauce

Montasio is the most iconic cheese of our region. We recommend the 60-day aged version: full of character yet still very delicate. Paired with pear jam, sweet with a lightly mustardy note, it creates a harmonious balance perfect for an sophisticated appetizer.

Struky – Sliwowitz

To finish on a sweet note, there is no better combination than Struky with Sliwowitz. Struky is one of Friuli’s most important traditional desserts, filled with dried fruit, very similar to Gubana. Soaking them in Sliwowitz, a plum spirit typical of the Natisone Valley, makes them softer and even more irresistible. This represents the meeting of sweetness and intensity, but above all, of traditions that come together during the holidays.

To prepare an inviting charcuterie board, all you need is authentic ingredients, thoughtful pairings, and the guidance of tradition.

The combinations we’ve suggested enhance the flavor of our aged meats and tell the story of the Friulian heritage with simplicity and taste.

Whether you prefer contrasts, sweetness, or stronger flavors, in our shop you’ll find everything you need to bring the warm, genuine atmosphere of the old-style osterias to your holiday table.
